The Master Model by John Letters have been used by some of the greatest golfers to have ever played the game, including Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Fred Daly, and Bernard Gallacher. At John Letters we’ve turned back the clock, with every new set being assembled in our all new St Andrews Custom workshop in the home of golf, St Andrews. While taking the heritage and history of John Letters signature iron model, we’ve updated it with modern technology to make it the perfect golf club for the skilled golfer.
The John Letters design team have taken feedback from our team of staff professionals to produce the perfect irons for their needs. The Master Model Irons are forged from the finest 8620 carbon steel for an exquisite ultra soft feel at impact that the world’s best players demand. The tour inspired head features a thin topline and a traditional profile at address while a brushed satin finish was chosen to reduce glare at address.
The slim muscle cavity offers forgiveness without sacrificing a traditional appearance. Mass is placed behind the sweetspot to provide a solid feel, but the cavity doesn’t protrude and is invisible at address for a classic appearance. A trailing edge grind narrows the sole to give the turf interaction a professional player demands.
On the recommendation of our staff players, the set have been ‘tour lofted’. Many better players bend their irons two degrees strong for a lower flight, but this adds offset to the set. By building them with stronger lofts as standard we have retained the low offset design whilst providing a stronger trajectory.
As well as comprehensive shaft and grip options, with Precision Rifle, True temper Dynamic Gold, Nippon NS Pro 950 all offered and the Golf Pride Tour Velvet as standard, the Master Model is customisable for paintfill colour. Whether it’s your trigger colour painted in to your JL logo to help calm you on every shot, or the colours of your favourite football team, your Master Model set can be unique to you.
